Best Gaming Mouse/Mouse accesories?

Hey, I was looking around at different mice while I'm waiting for my notebook. What do you guys use for gaming? MX500? Microsoft IntelliMouse? I was looking at an MX300 with Mouse Skatez and a fUnc pad.. what do you guys use?

Why doesn't anyone reply to the threads I make? Do you guys have something against me? I know you all have mice that you are using right now.. just tell me what you are using.. mouse.. touchpad.. mousepad..?

I use the Logitech MX700 and the Microsoft Explorer v3.0.

The Explorer is my lan mouse, because I don't really worry about losing it. It feels cheap and inferior compared to Logitech.

Ciro.. doesn't Logitech Mice have built-in "weight"? Maybe that is the difference between the mice?

I believe so actually. But the plastic on the Microsoft Explorer feels thinner and cheaper also. Go to Best Buy and fiddle around with the display models. You'll see what I mean.

Though I have to admit, I don't really like the side buttons on the MX 700 as much as Explorer 3.0.

I have them set as Reload and Parachute for battlefield. Much easier to click on the Explorer, don't always seem to work right or click properly (unless you're clicking with a "purpose", ie hard) on the MX 700.

The MX 700's left and right buttons actually stuck a little bit for me at first. A few hours of Bf1942 and that went away though.

My old Logitech mouseman has stuck buttons.. its about 3 years old though, and its pretty sticky :/ Thats why I'm using the Ballmouse.. its seriously great for gaming. I barely have to press down when I click.. its really useful for burst fire. I don't know if I'll ever go back to optical, but I might, for travel purposes.

I have both an MS Intellimouse Explorer (on my old desktop) and a Logitech Wireless MX Duo keyboard and mouse combo (for my notebook). I much prefer the Logitech for the more solid feel, and one-piece mouse buttons. I prefer the MS scroll wheel though, and you have to be very careful with the Logitech wireless keyboard, as there are function lock buttons and a separate scroll wheel on it as well - accidently touching one of those during a game can really trip you up...

Oh, by the way, the MX Duo uses the MX700 mouse I believe... In case you're looking for just the mouse.

The only kind of mouse that I can stand using is a 5 button intellimouse (not explorer). Also ratpads or silmilar mousepads are the best for optical mice IMO. Just don't get a ball mouse.

The Logitech MX Duo does come with the MX700. Thats what I have at my desk here at UCF.

Clue me in. Is a "ratpad" some "type" of mouse pad that is better for optical mice? I must be out of touch.

http://www.ratpadz.com/

Large surface area mouse pad, plastic like so its hard and won't wear out at all/or as fast as a cloth mousepad. Also designed for minimal slippage on most surfaces, with many feet securely holding it to a table or surface.

Very nice mousepads. No more expensive then the ones with pictures of puppies/cats on them from Best Buy.

Doesn't ratpadz have a bumpy surface? I think my brother has one, but his comp is up north.. I like the smoother feel of a func pad with miceskatez, my friend has it.. its great for FPS. The thing is if I get an MX300, or any type of gaming mouse, it says its PS/2, and the Mitac 8355 doesnt have a PS/2, so I'll need to buy an adapter :/

Get the mx duo, it's what I use on my current desktop; the mx700 is a great mouse especially considering it's wireless. Also, I know it's USB.

for mice pads, I realy like the xtrac zoom mousepad, mostly due to how thin it is, it easily slides under my keyboard for those tight areas: http://www.xtracpads.com/hardSurface.htm
plus the design on it is pretty cool looking (though I doubt it does anything for the tracking like xtrac claims).

I don't want that big of a mouse, like the mx500 or 700.

I use a mx500 (opened it up and took out the dumb weight). It is/was probably the gamer's mouse of choice. Taking infact nearly everyone at last year's midwest lan had one. You can also flick the mouse as fast as you can, and it will never skip scanning. It you want wireless which = much heavier mouse b/c of batteries I would recommend either the logitech mx900 duo which utilizes bluetooth or the new wireless microsoft opticals that have a sideways scrolling mousewheel.

Yea, but those are really expensive, I just decided to upgrade to 7200 RPM, so I'm looking for under $40 dollars now

MX500 with Everglide Giganta. I put some teflon tape on the "feet" of the mouse to help it glide better. Tape wears out so you have to replace it every so often (3 to 6 months). Put a little pledge on the mouse pad also helps the mouse glide.

Turn of mouse acceleration if you play games.

Using the logitech or mouse GUI to turn off acceleration isn't as good.

I use the mx500 with my laptop so i dont have to carry around the wireless receiver. Works great! I use a MS 5 button intellimouse (non explorer) on my desktop. I prefer the shape of the logitech.

What kind of teflon tape? The teflon tape from Home Depot and Lowe's doesn't work.. did you order it off the internet? or what? I spent $.89 on useless teflon tape! (useless here in florida) Where did you get your teflon tape?
