DVD Drive

I just got my Dell 8600 today and I am having some problems with my DVD drive. I put a cd in into it and it was playing the music fine. I decided to watch a DVD and then all of a sudden it would not recognize the disc. Now every time I insert a disc it does not recognize it. On the mouse pointer I see the disc like it wants to read however when I go to play it it stops working? Anyone know if trying to re install the drivers on li ne would help.

both

I cant get a cd or dvd to play any longer. I even go into my computer and then check to see if I can view the file there and it just shows up like it is empty. I went on to the dell site however I can not find the driver for the NEC ND-5100A which is what I have. Any suggestions?

Put the Dell Restoration disk in your drive then restart if the system can read the cd then theres somethign wrong on the software side but if you cant read it there either the drive is busted and tha tmeans you need a new one preferably have one sent to you through mail so you dont have to send in the whole system unless you have on site then get a techie to come by
