Shipping times...

How long does it typically take HP to ship a laptop once the order is placed? Their builld dates seem to be 10-14 days out.

I placed an CTO order order thru www.COSTCO.com ... which BTW gives you a 180 return window vs the 21-day return window if you order thru HP itself.. (CTO=Custom to Order) Placed the order on 2nd, est SHIP time of 12th, unit was SHIPPED from the Hp factory in CHINA.. FRIDAY the 7th @3:54pm (after the Fed-Ex cut off time).. and arrived on MONDAY the 10th... by 8:30am

Buy.com and Fedex

I ordered a notebook through buy.com on thursday around noon but it said that it shipped today. Fedex said that the est. time of arrival was next tuesday in the after noon. I had payed for 2 day shipping but i want to know if it could get here say tomorrow or sunday. I dont know if they state the est. maximum time of arrival or minimum. Im hoping maximum cuz id really like to get it tomorrow or sunday.

2-day shipping means two business days unless someone chooses an optional saturday/sunday delivery (I don't think buy.com offers this). If you live within a 1 day FedEx ground delivery zone from the buy.com warehouse, then you can expect your package to arrive early. Otherwise, you will probably get your laptop on tuesday.

im about 200 miles from the place it shipped, is that in the ground shipping zone. Its like a 3hr drive or less?

Call Fed-Ex...

If anyone knows, they would. I would assume you got a tracking number since it shipped.... If it says Tuesday, then it's going to be Tuesday...

If it was shipped Friday you can expect it Tuesday.... Unless it was overnighted. (which is big $$$$$)

I was looking at the tracker and it said that it was picked up at about 4:30. So theres no chance it could get here tomorrow?

Well, I ordered the dv2000z 512 cache, 512 ram(256x2) I'll up the ram later; 80gb, blue tooth, light scribe, web cam, 12 cell batt. I think this lappy should more than meet my portable needs. Thanks for the input, I love this forum for support and research.

Tuesday will be here soon enough.... To Ship Friday... and you get it Tuesday is pretty good considering Ground doesn't move on the weekend... My unit came directly from The HP factory in CHINA... was picked up Friday @3:54 the 7th (after the Fed-Ex cut off)... and was delivered MONDAY morning by 8:30am the 10th, East Coast USA..... Tracked it thru Alaska, etc.. Shipping was FREE, unit being ordered thru Costco.com... the company with the 180- day return window...
