well, i got my asus s96j a couple months ago. it has been working fine. however, when i try to play dvds, the disk starts spinning (i can hear it) and it just stops over and over. so the dvd would start playing and then stop, then start, then stop... etc.... is there a way to fix this?

IF you are using the included ASUS dvd software ... DONT

USE powerdvd, windvd, ms media player, VLC, anything other then asus dvd software. Seems to be a software conflict and it doesnt function right

I thought asus just packed an asus branded version of powerdvd (or windvd?). anyway that was the case a year back, not sure about the recent models.

Try a different dvd. Or maybe the optical drive is too dusty.
