He got the XPS touchpad to work in the 9300, I don't know how different the E1705 is from the 9300 under the hood. Good luck.

The parts from a 9300/Xps m170 are not a direct swap for a 9400/xps m1710/ Precision m90.

Ive already tried the m170 palmrest and there are several differences in the screw locations (and no media direct button).
