Dell Canada recently had a flyer that offered the XPS M1210 with the following:
Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2300E (1.66GHz/667MHz FSB)
12 inch WXGA Wide Screen with TrueLife™ and A/V Communications Pack (Intg. web cam, earbuds)
1GB Dual Shared Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7400 TurboCache
80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 Mini Card (802.11 a/g, 54Mbps)
65 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Dell Nylon Deluxe Carrying Case
Genuine Windows® XP Media Center Edition 2005
1 Year Return To Depot Service & Tech Support
The price for this was a respectable $1399.00Cdn funds.
That offer just expired and a new flyer came out offering the M1210 with the following changes:
Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz FSB)
No A/V com. pack
80GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
No carrying Case.
So, Dell gives you the better processor, better hard drive, worse video card, and takes away the A/V pack & carrying case. Guess what they're asking for this?
$1699!!!

But it went into production this morning so i'm hoping thats way off!!

Which makes little sense because it's usually $150 more than the 5400 RPM version.
