WTB: Compaq Presario 1800 18XL 1600 1200 hinges - pic included

Hello,

I was recently given a Compaq Presario 1800T. However, it's hinges are broken, so the monitor cannot stay open and support itself.

Here is a picture of the hinges from an ebay auction:



(don't worry, I've hosted it on imageshack so I don't hog bandwidth)


Many Compaq models in the 1800, 1600, and 1200 series had the same hinges. If anyone has hinges in good condition that they are willing to sell, please send me a PM with the details.

They are available for ~$30-35 shipped on ebay, so I'm looking to pay (significantly) less than that.

I'm new to these forums, but I have done extensive trading on other PC forums. I have heatware under Jawadali.

I dont see why anyone would want to sell u somethin for much lower than what they usually go for...

I don't expect to get them for only a couple of bucks, but personally, I feel $35 is too high. I'm just looking to see if I can get a better deal (hey, that's why we all browse FS/FT forums, don't we?). I'll probably end up getting them on ebay, but I thought I'd give this forum a try first. Maybe someone has some from a broken laptop that they don't need anymore, or maye people got duplicates when getting a replacement screen/case. I'm open to all offers. I may also be looking for a battery for this laptop and for an IBM 365X.

^^Yea and anyway, the hinges are a pretty important part for the functionality of the laptop. Paying the 30-35 bux is worth it. I doubt you'll find anyone on here that will have the same exact part you need for a lower price.

Good luck on your find. I hope someone comes through for you here on these kick-ass forums.

(note: This is in noooo way a threadcrap, just some friendly advice)
