yeah exactly Spanknasty, the UPS drivers are not allowed to leave a package if it requires a signature. also, the nice thing is that once you figure out what time the ups man comes, that is generally the same time they always come give or take an hour.. least that's how it works for me and when using FedEx.
just remember that if you ever receive a package that appears damaged in any way, to refuse delivery if at all possible while the ups/fedex man is there, since they are then forced to return the package at no cost to you (because they damaged the shipment, not you or the shipper)
i once received a desktop computer case and didnt find out till i was inside that there was a huge gaping hole in the styrofoam of the box, penetrating to the acrylic clear panels of the case! luckily no apparent damage was done. if i had known earlier i would have refused it immediately
