I just got my E1405 from dell.com
first of all i formated the main partition. then i installed a new copy of an original windows xp pro on the computer.
everything worked excepet i couldn't set the screen to it's natural resolution, no sound card was detected and also the wireless connection and the scroll zones on the touchpad wasn't working.
so i went to dell.com and downloaded:

Intel Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection - and that fixed the wireess network.

Intel 945GM Graphics Controller - that fixed the resolution but i have the GMA 950, is this the same?

SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio - and i fixed the sound.

Synaptics Touchpad - and it fixed the touchpad settings.

from that point everything worked well. but then when i set the computer not to go to stand by when i close the lid (for personal reasons) when i come in the morning to the computer it is stuck but not frozen. i can move the mouse but nothing responses to my clicks so i have to press the power button and restart it that way.

questions:
1. Why is this happening to me? maybe some drivers i had to download and missed them?

2. what are the two other partitions are for? they take like 5GB's.. that's a lot of place, can i get rid of them? and how can i see what's inside them because it's fat32 i can't access it from windows on an ntfs partition.

3. after i installed all the drivers, tons of processes startup with my computer and takes lots of ram, is there a way to avoid it?

that's it for now, maybe i'll add some later,
Thanks alot.
