Ok, so I just got my notebook up and running with xp pro and I've run into a strange problem. When the laptop comes out of standby or hibernation it reconnects to the network, but it will not go onto the internet unless I restart the dns client service. I'm guessing that it looses it's cache or something when it's down a bit and for some reasion the service does not pick it up again unless it's restarted. Does anyone know a solution for this, or even a way to get the service to auto restart when it resumes. I've written a batch file to do it currently, but i have to run it manualy. Also the service currently runs logged on as network service and I was thinking of changing it to system to see if it made a diference; but I thought I would ask here first. The laptop has a intel 3945abg pro wireless chipset by the way. Thanks for your help.
