Freezing problem durring games.. - Page 2

i'm not the type to say "we should sue" or something but i think in this case sager/pro-star should be liable for offering a better cooling solution or an upgrade. i cant play any of the current 3d games on stock cooling, even on super low resolution and "eye candy" settings, without continually throttling.

i even tried underclocking...such a pain in the ass! especially for the price we paid for these laptops. (especially when some of us used them as a desktop replacement.)

Pazuzzu,

I definitly feel ya man. I struggled to figure out the problem for so long- I even re-installed XP and tried a million drivers until I finally realized that the video card was actually just overheating. And again, I completely agree with what you just said because the price was over $3000 for this thing, and it can't even keep itself cool. I'm just glad that I finally figured out a cooling solution (it involves three seperate cool pads/cooling fans.

If anyone would like, I can email you pictures of a setep that I have for my Sager 9750 that allows it to run perfectly. You can buy all of the needed fans off newegg for ~$50. It's pretty sad though because with all of the extra fans this thing as turned even more into a desktop-replacement instead of a laptop- but I can still fit it all into a backpack. Everyone with this problem should contact Sager so that they know that a lot of people are having this issue. I suppose now that they sell the 7900's in their systems they probably aren't too worried about this problem.
