7900GTX in a barebone?

Hello,

I'm from Holland and we don't have much Dell coupons (only a 5% off). As the MSI MS-1047 is only 560 euros (+ T2500 (=280) + 2GB 667Mhz mem (=150) + HDD (80) + used 7900GTX (350 - ebay) = 1420 euros in total).. it would be a XPS 17", but 600 euros cheaper.

I read the manual, they don't state anything about gpu's, so I guess it's a no-go?

Any comments?

So that basicly means you can't build a 7900GTX in any barebone? Every barebone has an integrated gpu afaik..

well, it depends on the barebone definition from each manufacturer. some "barebone" mobo has the gpu soldered solid onto it. best thing is give the manufacturer support an e-mail

Take a look at Sager notebooks. There's a section on the forums here.

Here's a link to a builder who'll assemble the barebones: http://www.powernotebooks.com/category.php?catId=26

Several notebooks with the 7900 gtx

Sager is located in America, not in Europe. That means I have to add 19% (!!) tax.

well a notebook with a 7900gtx isn't going to come cheap. If that's what you had in mind you're headed for disappointment. However, I agree, I wouldn't want to spend 19% extra on the 2500 or so those cost. Still, You get what you pay for.

dell should do for you depending on how much you want to spend. you can always buy from tech in forsale
