DVI out Not working, E1705 Backlight always on.

Hi, this is my first post here and I need some assistance since I have no more ideas on what to do.

I bought an E1705 Laptop with x1400 screen 1440x900@60 with 1GB Ram,
and all the other stuff except for a bluetooth card. Here is the deal. I replaced the X1400 with a Go 7800 GTX and replaced to 9-Cell Batt with 130W PS, All is working fine except for two things. The DVI it is not working with my HP f2105 21" LCD Monitor, this is a DVI or Analog monitor with a res of 1680x1050@60 HDTV ready. The monitor works with the laptop on the analog port, but it doesnt work with the DVI port. However, the monitor works with my desktop PC on the DVI port with a 6800GT card with no problems. I Also tested with a dell provided DVI Cable and with the cable that brings the monitor from the factory, but nothing, monitor goes to sleep and does not detect signal. The other problem I have is that the Laptop display backlight stays on all the time when the monitor is connected to the analog port and the lid is closed, or even left opened the backlight is still on. I am using single display when using my external monitor, no dual view or spands, just single display.

I performed a BIOS upg from dell site to the laptop, and nada. If anyone have knowledge of this or had the same problem and have a solution, please let me know, I really want to use the monitor on the DVI port and I fear for the Laptops LCD display life if the backlight is on all the time when using and external monitor. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I believe other people that upgraded to the 7800 GTX had the same issue. I dont remember reading a solution on it.

Is this the same board? cause the board might change from the integrated video on the E1705 but could be the same board of the M1710, bot specs are exactly the same the case is the same except on color and some internal extras, the weight could be the same, but the XPS has its internal leds that might add more weight, see the dimensions. Perhaps the only difference is the top right KP screw location, which is needed to be removed in the E1705's to install the GTXs. I dont have a M1710 to compare the 2 boards visually, but if this is correct, you dont need to replace the board, or perhaps you could if it is not too expensive, but you could use a XPS M1710 Bios IMG to reprogram the E1705's one and might resolve the small issues related to video, DVI functionality and monitor backlight turning off.
Can anyone compare or post a pic of their M1710 board to compare with the E1705? as long as the chipset is the same, I think there will be no issues. M1710 is the SAME as the E1750.
