New 802.11n mini cards available - sort of

Ok, so Dell has announced the availability of the new 802.11n mini card for the XPs line of notebooks (and others), but I cannot find anything in the accessories section on their site. I'm assuming that just means it will be available as an option on new systems and eventually filter into the accessories section of the site. But just in case, has anyone found this to be orderable on the dell site yet (outside of getting it with a new machine)?

Some of us will look into this kbdrand. Especially our resellers... as an 802.11n wireless card would be a nice addition to our Dells.

This would be exactly what I have been waiting for. I purchased a Netgear Rangemax240 router like two months ago, and I am seriously impressed with the performance. My wife has a pcmcia adapter in her desktop and she uses the wireless notebook card (wpnt511) to connect with. If I use a cat5 wire connection to the router, our file transfers efficiently use between 90% - 93% of my 100mbps connection. Unfortunately I am the kind of person who hates anything 'extra' sticking out of my notebook (pcmcia card). So this would be the perfect solution for me! I will be certainly keeping on top of this.. as soon as its available, I will be one of the first in line!

The only problem is that the RangeMax 240 (Model WPNT834) that I have is a MIMO router NOT an Pre-802.11n router. I highly doubt these cards are going to give you the performance you will be expecting with the RangeMax 240.

This is true, I realize its not a Pre-N spec'd router. Regardless of that however, the MIMO technology is the main base of the Pre-N specification. I have two Belkin Pre-N cards in my lappie bag right now, that work very well with my rangemax router. I dont get the 240mbps connections with these cards, however the throughput improvement over my Intel 2915ABG card are still extraordinary. I believe as long as MIMO is built into the technology, there will be large throughput gains to be had. With that said, I will still be first in line to pick on of these bad boys up. I don't mind being the guinea pig!
