What's the downside of getting an VGN-SZ240?

I'm seriously thinking of buying a SZ240 and I was wondering if there are any cons about it? I know its a pretty light laptop but is it carbon fiber? How does it differ from the other SZ laptops. Sorry if my questions seem stupid but I've just started thinking about buying an SZ240.

Hi, the SZ240 is a customizable NON-Carbon Fiber version of the regular SZ series. Battery life is around estimated 2hrs. If you want the carbon fiber and estimated 3hrs of battery and a 3 oz lighter Laptop go for the SZ Premium series which includes: SZ270, SZ280 (Both of these have carbon fiber)

SZ110-120, SZ140, SZ220-240 are do not have carbon fiber.

Hope this helps

Thanks . As I am a student I have a rather limited budget and the other SZ's are out of my league budget wise. Does anyone know about the abysmal battery life? Does it changes when you change graphics cards? Thanks

I've actually had great battery life with my SZ. Took a two hour flight with it, and had the screen at about 1-2 brightness and still had 50% of my battery left when I landed. I was happy with that!

Thanks may I ask what SZ you have? Also does anyone know of any reviews for the SZ240 specifically? Also how much does it weigh and is it ok for a casual gamer?
Thanks
Also is it capable of using Vista?

I've got an SZ140P10. I haven't seen any reviews of the SZ240 specifically, but from what I know about them, it's just a SKU refresh, and has the option for a 120GB HD versus the 100GB max on the SZ140's.

It weighs about 4lbs, and I've never been happier with a notebook weight. My previous notebook was a BX565, a 15.4" 6.2lb notebook that feels like a brick compared to this light thing.

As for casual gaming, the NVIDIA 7400 in it should do fine for light gaming, or even the latest games, but just don't expect all the settings to be turned way way up. It'll be modest to low settings for the card, but you'll still get great performance out of it.

Yea, it's very sturdy and durable. It has the magnesium casing that makes it pretty durable over the normal plastic. Good luck.
