My Vantec Laptop Cool2 crapped out and the laptop is getting up to 67 degs and the fan doesn't kick on and that's just surfing the web. Damn this thing is hot.

I know someone posted it before, but I can't find it by searching. At what temp does your fan kick on?

thx!

55 C for the CPU. I think there's a higher speed for the fan that should kick in at around 65 or 70 C.

Thanks SlantNGo. I ordered a Bytecc NC-500 aluminum cooler. Hopefully that will help.

I did put my ear up to the fan on the upper right side and I can hear a fan blowing. It must be further back than I can actually see. I thought the fan was right below the vent there. I need to scout up some screen shots at notebookreview and check.

i wouldn't worry to much i am pretty sure the 5672 is set to handle higher temps like most desktops, as in other forums, people have used IR temp gauges and got 124 farenhiet readings on touchpad alone.

The CPU temp is not what worries me--it is the HD temp. Most HDs aren't designed to go above 50. Mine will go up to 55 on occasion.
