Im going to be getting an M1710 in the next 4/5 weeks, just wondering if anyone has a date or rough idea when dell will start putting meroms in their notebooks. Will it be in the next 4 weeks?? if so, i think i will wait.

Intel will unveil five models of its 65nm notebook-use Merom processors by the end of July, when the company will also launch its Core 2 Duo Conroe desktop CPUs, according to a July 17 report in the Chinese-language Commercial Times. However, despite the early launch, volume shipments of Merom CPUs are still expected to start in mid-August, following the original schedule, the paper said.

apparently they are supposed to be drop in compatible with the current mobo setup (for the 1705). I think you have to use a certain bios or something but theres not much else to do other than that.
