Conroe Benchmarks

Thread Starter
I know this isn't laptop related but I wanted to show you guys the promise that Conroe(and then Merom following) is showing. This cpu runs amazing and clocks pretty darn well. Here is the first round of benchmarks. All bench's are done at the following settings(except 3DMark benchmarks as I did those earlier at 3.4Ghz, I will redo them @ 3.8Ghz later):

E6600 @ 423x9=3.809Ghz, Vcore set in BIOS at 1.4875
Memory at 530Mhz 4-4-4-12 2.1v

Super Pi

SANDRA CPU Arithmetic

SANDRA CPU Multimedia

SANDRA Memory Benchmark

SANDRA Performance Index

3DMark01

3DMark05

3DMark06

PCMark05

Anyway, what do you guys think so far? Any benchmarks you want me to run(as long as they're free)? Let me know, I'm more than happy to run stuff you want me to run. I will be doing dual Prime stable testing tonight to see what speeds it's stable at.

They are not impressive enough to warrant me to buy one to replace my t2400, as of now. Maybe in 2007 for Vista, but for now, my t2400 is more than enough.

I have a t2300 in my Dell laptop and I can assure you that Conroe(and Merom when it's released) will absolutely own even Yonah. The difference in speed from my Core Duo to my Core 2 Duo is amazing. Obviously Conroe doesn't make a difference to you if you're a laptop user, but Merom will. The difference from Yonah to Merom will be significant enough to warrant an upgrade for anyone that needs a fast cpu. If you're happy with your Yonah that's great, but the difference is significant.

for laptop my pm 750 will have to do and for desktop x2 3800+ at 3Ghz is more than enough. people like core 2 duo alot though just sold 6 yesterday in 3 hours. im not switchin because x1900xt dont require a faster processor.

Yep, I posted this thread on all the forums i go to I just wanted to show everyone what Conroe will do on a normal, non-tweaked-to-hell system on air cooling. This is something most people should be able to duplicate. Although that depends on if the retail chips clock as well as the ESs do. I'm glad I spent the money on an ES though, it's really paid off!

man, that makes me want to buy a core2duo and make a desktop... i was at microcenter today (sales tax free weekend in MA this weekend) and I was just looking at the e6600 (of which they had at least 5 oem versions that i could see, priced at like $260 or something, or maybe that was the e6400) and the x6800s (i saw like 4 of them just sitting there (inside a locked case of course)), and i was just wishing i had the extra money to shell out, and the extra time to build a system and the extra reasons for needing a desktop...
