I'm looking for a workstation laptop to run autocad on, mobility/ battery time isn't much of an issue, please help.

That's what Viz, Max, Solidworks, Cinema 4D, Lightwave 3D,Maya, ZBrush, Rhino, Maxwell, Form Z, etc. are for. THAT is why I assumed he used it for normal 2d purposes, which is not system intensive at all. Heck, even Revit's older Accurender is able to make renders that blow away CAD's quality.
