ok when you are building a laptop with dell you get the option of adding a tv tunner with remote. but it says it is for windows xp media center edition. will it still work on xp home edition? if not then why not. also are wireless internal bluetooth network cards already in the computer so you do not have to put anything in the pc card slot or what?

I believe that the TV tuner will still work, but may require a third party program. Not completely sure though.

My e1705 came with the wireless bluetooth card already installed inside the computer. Yours should come the same way.

They're designed to function with Windows Media Center.

You may be able to find a third party program to run them, but I dont know any.

I imagine for about the same price as the "upgrade" you could buy a tv tuner/remote from another company that probably has it's own software.

TV tuners require software in order to playback on computer systems. Dell choose Media Center as its "supported" software. If you want TV playback from Dell they require XP-MCE.

Wireless and Bluetooth, if ordered from Dell will both internal. This will keep the Express card slot open for other uses. However most of these new systems come with an Express card slot not a PC card slot and there are very few Express cards available at the moment.
