What are the green lights on the bottom?

I assume they have to do with the battery?

They show you the charge level of the battery.

I never really understood why they have them though. I mean, when the computer is off just look at the plug to see if it is orange or green. I guess the lights can give you an estimate. It would be a lot better if you could charge the batteries w/o them having to be in the laptop. Then I would be able to actually see the green lights.

They're there so you know how much charge the battery has. Especially handy if you have multiple batteries as you can just press the button and know the charge level without having to plug it into the computer.
