Really? I have D-Link's newest router (wireless-G)c, and I have never had a single dropoff, or my wireless connection has never gone out.

Well the old Linksys, the ones with the Linux firmware. The new ones are gimped crap with no customization ability, lucky I still retain the oldie.

So you're saying your previous statement is false... I can't trust people who give me false information.
So if your statement [Linksys > Netgear > Dlink] is false, I can't trust you.
Since I can't trust you, I must believe that what you have to say is irrelevant, and Netgear > Dlink > Linksys.

LOL, just messing with ya...

Seriously though, Linksys is crap [after it got bought out by Cisco and made cheap - nothing wrong with Cisco, just what they decided to do with the Mom & Pop company that we used to love].

ok how about this.

Old Linksys > Netgear > Dlink

The sheer ability of the old linksys routers to install custom firmware put it leagues beyond the other routers. I could overclock my router to cut through cordless phone signals.

Switched to Linksys from dlink. More signal strength than Dlink with easier setup.

Should have gone with Netgear...

No, I understand where you're coming from SkooBoi... just too bad it doesn't hold true anymore.
Since we're all dealing with the manufacturer's rules now, I would rather go Netgear...

I hate netgear I spent 3-4 hours on the phone with tech support trying to set up my network. In the end I just lied that it worked and returned it. Got a Dlink MIMO router, had it up and running in 5 minutes.

What Netgear model, and what was the issue?
i forgot which model but it was 108mbps and none of my computers (6 of them) would connect.

Sounds like a bad apple... haven't had many issues with Netgear as much as I have with Linksys [after they got bought out by Cisco].
