ASUS resellers and CA sales tax

Hey NBF readers,

I was wondering what you guys know about Asus resellers and sales tax. Specifically, I'm interested in ordering an Asus laptop from an out-of-state retailer in hopes of avoiding the CA sales tax. Which reseller(s) would be a good bet?

Thanks a bunch,
JK

Geared2Play.com I think ships it to their Nevada office then to you to avoid you having to pay tax.

I contacted All Asus/Star Tech. Apparently, they do not charge CA sales tax as they are located in PA.

www.powernotebooks.com is a very well regarded seller. They are a bit more expensive than Gentech to begin with but will probably still be cheaper because of California's crazy sales tax.

Integrated System Technologies of NC wouldn't charge you any tax, as they're accross the country.

They have a reseller rating of 9.96 and that ain't pulling your leg

i've been looking to avoid ca sales tax, but for my config for the s96j, gentech seems to be cheaper w/ tax than other resellers w/o tax.

What would really help now is if we had some kind of listing of all the Asus resellers in the US and which state they're in. If we only had that... oh, wait: we do

Even living in California, GenTech still offers a lower price on my set up compared to that reseller with the same set up.

I ordered from c9tech.

To avoid CA tax, they have to cross ship it BLEH! So right now i waited 5 days for it to be shipped to their HQ via ground, then im' guessing it's gonna take 5 more days to get it shipped back to me. talk about a round trip....
