Sentia Video, etc.

Hello All,

I just purchased a Sentia online at the Alienware site. I'm currently in Phase 1 because of the weekend which sucks, but hopefully i'll move along on Monday. I have a couple of quesions:

1) I've been hearing about problems with the LCD being washy... can someone give me more info on this problem? I currently own (typing on right now) a Sony Vaio PCG-SRX87, and was wondering how the screen compares to a Vaio screen.

2) I used the Alienware finance option, and was wondering if someone could tell me more about the process to finalize the financing.

3) I've heard of ship dates being less than a week to over a month, does anyone know what determines this or what the current wait time might be??

3) Here is my configuration:
Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional
Alienware Exclusive Sentia Case - Conspiracy Blue
Intel® Pentium® Processor M with 1 MB Cache - 1.7GHz 400MHz FSB
Intel® 855GM+ICH4M Chipset DDR
Intel® PRO/Wireless 2100 network connection
1024MB DDR PC-2100 - 2x512 SO-DIMMs
Hitachi 60GB 7200 RPM ATA100 with 8MB Cache
14.1"SXGA+ 1400x1050 LCD Display
Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 technology
Sound-Blaster Pro Compatible 3D Audio
2x1x8x DVD-RW / 16x10x24x CD-RW Combo w/Software
Integrated 10/100Mb Ethernet NIC

I look forward to posting here and talking with the rest of the enthusiests (sp)!!

Feel free to contact me over IM or via e-mail if you want to chat/talk.

Thanks,

Congrats on the purchase Jon!

I do not personally have the Sentia (I have the 51m) but it would seem to me that the LCD's come from the factory without any tweaking. It just requires us to do some color/gama correction once we open that nifty box.

As far as the financing, it seems that Alienware will have to mail you a few documents which will require your signatures and return mail. This can add sometime to the whole process.

Let us know how it goes...you've got one heck of a lapper coming! Booga and the boys around here will surely be a big help to you.

Enjoy!

I like the display on my sentia. I have my display at the dimmest possible setting and the images are clear. At the brightest setting it almost compares to my 19" CRT.

I have seen bad LCD's which could not display the light grey background of my web page at slacker.NET This is also the case with a few of those $250 desktop LCD display setup you find in computer ads.
