Help me out Dell users, decision time

I currently have an Inspiron 9300. I've had it for a year, and for me, that means I'm bored with it and I want something new. I really want an m90. It is kind of a lot of money, but I had invested about $2100 in the i9300 at the time, so I don't see the m90 as extortion. It's close, but not quite. Anyway, review the poll options and tell me what you think.

*edit* bah! I wanted to add a poll but I screwed it up somehow. So basically vote for:
1. Keep the i9300 and wait for Merom and Vista to be available through Dell
2. Sell the i9300 for cheap and buy an m90 with a cheap processor and upgrade to Merom later
3. Screw it all, sell the POS and buy a fully-loaded m90 right away

Patience my man....Boredom is not a valid excuse. Wait for merom. It's just around the corner.

#3. waiting sucks.

Get what you want, when you want it. It's only money.

#2...Prices on memron will jack the prices up for a few months until the new processor saturates the market..

Looking at the performance of Conroe on tomshardware, I would wait for sure.
Simply put, the mid-lowend core 2 duo's outperform an Athlon FX-62!!!!!

HOLY SH*T!!!

I say, keep it until all the new hardware settles in, in Q1 next year. Thats what I am waiting for anyway.

Nothing worse than buying a new rig just to have it obsolete the next month. Granted, that happens anytime you buy a computer, but with all the new hardware coming out so soon, might as well wait and have a DX10 setup that you can upgrade down the road.

I Pick 1 It Will Save You Some Money Down The Line ,and You Will Get The New Windows Vista And Core Duo 2 Two Things For The Price Of One!

#1 for sure, considering the up-and-coming stuff we know about (plus i'm sure there's some stuff we don' know about.) Becides, upgrading can be such a pain in the ass.

It may only be money, but I don't have all that much of it. The wife spends all of hers on clothes, I spend all mine on computer gear. I'd rather keep myself warm with a laptop than with an expensive pair of jeans

What's the point of continually upgrading, I don't understand threads like this that don't include the software-based reason for an upgrade... Just leave your laptop be.

2. Buy through tech in the f/s section, you'll get a way better deal then dell (i mean he'll get more bang for his buck if he buys through tech)

...Well considering he can upgrade to Yonah & an entirely new chipset by upgrading his laptop, which will also open the door to Memron it would seem to be a pretty good upgrade path..

If it was me I'd go #1, 'cos I'm careful with my cash.

However if you get bored after a year, #3 is only option - and next year's DX10 games to look forward to with your next upgrade.

I'm an authorized dell reseller, I can get the same m90 Tech and Balth and BlueDevils sell for $100 cheaper and no shipping. So, you KNOW those guys are behaving themselves and they aren't making very much money. If you think about it, if they got scammed once, they'd have to make 25 more sales to recoup the loss. I respect them for what they do, that's not a very big profit margin.

Yea, and feel like a sorry ass later....

I'm going to keep my 9300 until next year. Vista looks great and Merom even better!

I vote for #2. Cuz it's the exact same thing I'm doing. Minus the selling I9300 part.
