ze4900 Backlight Issues

Thread Starter
Well, recently I had come home and when I tried booting my laptop the backlight seemed to be dead. I could barely make out what was on the screen and it was very dim. After messing with the battery pack and such it worked well for a few weeks. However, last night the backlight seems to have died again. I tried looking at the battery again and making sure nothing was wrong there but no luck--it wouldn't fix itself.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?
Is it complicated?
How much would a repair cost if I had to resort to going to a shop or sending it in somewhere?

I'm a newbie here, sorry. :frown:

Try changing the inverter first if the lid switch isnt stuck.. If that doesnt do it? CCFL/Backlight will need changed..

I'd recommend taking it to a laptop repair center to test if it's either the inverter or the tube. I just got my tube replaced for $120, though I did uninstall/install of the LCD. Unfortunately I've got some major leakage going on now
