Are there any M140 owners still on here or did they all migrate to Core Duo machines? Sign in...

Me.

I'm still here with my M140.

Was thinking about going Core Duo but really didn't see the need. I'll wait for Merom.

Still have mine. I'm not a hard-core gamer - If it takes more than 10 min. to learn, I'm not interested. I need to run business apps, make presentations, burn a few DVD's, and surf the net. It's just what I need - small, light, runs cool, geat battery life --- so I'm really happy with it.

Yep, still here.

I still have mine. I used to have an Inspiron 8200 but that was stolen. I got the M140 because it has much better battery life and is much more portable.

I really didn't need to play games on it anymore.

xps m140

I'm in. I got mine about 2 mos. ago, and love it. I use it all the time instead of my i9300 because it is so much more portable and I'm not a gamer.
The thing is great: long batt. life (9 cell), nice screen and pretty fast.
I also got a good deal on it although some of the latest e1405 deals have been nice.

Well I posted this in another thread, but didn't receive a single response. Maybe someone here could help out?

I'm trying to change the power properties on my M140 when I have it unplugged from the power cord. I can make the changes, but it refuses to save, so every time I close the lid, and then open it again, or plus the cord back in, I have to change it again. I undervolted my laptop, so the default power management setting is RM Clock. If I try to save under that or create my own management setting, it gives me some sort of error, saying something about 2 revision levels.

So how do I save it and keep it saved even after closing the lid or unplugging/plugging in the cord?

M140 owner right here. I love the M140 laptop and it's much more portable/lightweight then my previous XPS Gen2. While the Gen2 was an outstanding machine, it was also VERY heavy and forget about using it on an airplane LOL.

Only thing I've done with the M140 is upgraded the RAM to 1.5GIG and also added the Bluetooth. So far so good.

the m140 IMO is the perfect notebook, when customised to ur needs/wants
post #15 of 20
I've still got mine and I plan on keeping it for a while.

I bought an M140 in March. It is my first notebook, and is perfect for me, as I am not a gamer at all, and I was looking for portability, battery life and speed. I have taken it on a few trips and it really is ideal for me.

i got mine in april and im still very happy with mine, this is my first nb and new comp in 4 years so its leaps and bound better than my old dt 4300. got mine with 100 gig hd so i can have all my media with me (i have over 30 gig of music). i take it to campus every day and its not hard to use in a desk/chair or that heavy either.

the only thing i really want to do is take out my 1.73p-m 533 and pin mod a 1.73p-m 400. then i would have a 2.26p-m 533 and that would make movie encoding just a little bit quicker. also i have call of duty 1 and it plays really well on the nb.

Hello everyone, new guy here.

Got mine the day before it got pulled.

So this is basically an e1405 right. So I assume I'm getting better support because its labeled an XPS? Also liking the 18 month no interest on XPS from DPA

Other notebook is a 3.5 year old 600m, still going strong, just needed a fresh battery.

Need to find the gf a thin&light. Should I just give up one of mine and get a 17" power system? hmmm

here, my only computer , I was planning to buy it, then it got removed, I got so mad, so I got 1 from e-bay,

....unfortuantly, there are better computers (almost the same features) that are less expencive . but im ok with that, my M140 is sweet, 1GB ram, TrueLife Screen, and 80gb hd (I thought I needed more, and maybe I do, only 7 gb left of space in it now)

Since u brought up this old thread from the dead, its funny to see that the original poster of this has a core duo in his sig:
