Suppose i buy the lappie with the lousy 4200rpm hdd then when it ships i then change it to the hitachi 7200rpm which i bought in my country. Is this advisiable since AW did optimizations already? Will the benchmark thing saved in the hdd be also placed in the cds? Windows xp cd will be provided rite?
Anywayz how do i opt for integrated wireless lan option?

I am not familiar with AW's policies but there's no reason you can't exchange the hdd. Its relatively easy to do. Just make sure get your jumpers set right.

As for any tweaking AW may do, I am pretty sure they don't touch the HDD other than via Software. HDD manufacturer's are as paranoid about OEMs fooling aound inside their drives as they are of consumers. That's why they're sealed, to keep any and all out. You might want to make an image of your OS before you switch them. Or you can just install your OS per instructions and your own best sense.

Your owner's manual should specify the order of installing the drivers. Check with that or if you don't have one, check with AW directly.

As I noted before, you can and should make an image of your OS and the rest of your current drive. It might be possible to do that by installing your 7200 drive in the secondary drive bay and then using an imaging program to copy the OS and whatever else there is onto the 7200 drive. Then you would yank both drives and switch them with the 7200 in the primary bay and the other drive in the secondary bay, Then you can delete the data on the secondary drive and use it for whatever. Make sure you reset the jumpers when you switch the drives.
