time for a new notebook..asus or lenovo?

hey guys. i cracked the lcd on my asus m6bne. ive currently got a big white ctx monitor hooked up to whats left of my m6bne. i could just buy a new lcd but i need a new notebook for trravel anyways. i need something thin and light. i was originally looking at the lenovo z series but after seeing how beautiful the w3j+ is, i got to thinking. i could get the lenovo pretty well equipped for a good price with employee pricing. the z62f is also an option but the styling of the w3j is hard to beat.

my one question about the w3j+ is how easy is it to maintain the brushed aluminum cover. does it scratch easy?

lenovo is a great company and makes great laptop but IMO they are too plain. W3J is expensive but super nice with amazing build quality!!! z62f is a budget notebook and if u don't play games you could consider it. try S62J tho, its almost like the z62f but with a dedicated nVidia 7300. i think those T60 are pretty decent.

thanks for the reply. the lenovo z series is a pretty good looking notebook. was planning on purchasing with the titanium colored cover. i dont really play games but im a sucker for a stylish notebook.

i dont have any trips planned soon and dont need a new notebook right away. do you guys think waiting would be a good idea? maybe it'll make it a little easier on the wallet.

I'd take the W3J over the Z series, personally.

I'd wait at least until Meroms come out, it hsould only be a month or 2.

You are in an asus forum, try asking this question a couple other places where there wouldn't be a bias .

thanks for the replies guys. i was leaning towards the w3j+ anyways. my only question is about brushed aluminum cover. does it scratch easy?

also, any new technologies coming out that would be worth waiting for?

the aluminum feels pretty tough, fingerprints show up a little but can be cleaned off real easy. its tougher and will scratch up less than plastic that's for sure...

how long do you think it would take for asus to throw merom in the w3j+?

i think they'll come out with a meron line instead of updating it.
