I'm brand new here, so I'll tell ya a bit about me first. I'm disabled, with very limited funds, but pretty handy with tools. I've been building my own desktop rigs since around '96 (?), & have overclocked & modded most of them. I only recently started playing with lappies, so have a lot to learn yet. OK, I now have an Inspiron 1150, w/Celeron 2.4GHz., that I got dirt-cheap, & re-soldered the chip on it. In case anyone's not familiar, certain Dells will shutdown if moved, lol, necessitating the "fix". OK, now she runs fine, & I'm wondering what all I can do to upgrade it. Can I throw a Pentium-M (Centrino)in it? I think so, but can't afford to just "take a chance". And what about DDR-2? Is it better, or even compatible? I see it's 200-pin, like DDR-400, but I have no idea if it's worth buying.
Also, I've seen references to pin-modding, & I'm probly willing to give that a try, after reading up, so I'd really like to make sure I get the best RAM for the job. It looks like I'd need DDR-2 667, if I understand right.
Thanx in advance.
