I just got my new Inspirion 6400 with an ATI X1400 video card. I am quite the computer geek but have a question or questions, in regards to upgrading the video drivers.
I was checking out the Dell support site to see if there were updated drivers and there was one for the ATI video card. In the notes section it doesn't mention anything about uninstalling the old ones...
I know on my home pc I remove the old drivers with Driver Cleaner or the Catalyst removal tool provied by ATI, as this prevents conflicts when installing the new drivers. Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I uninstall the old drivers first...are there any problems ??
I know that I can download the mobility drivers from ATI if I don't want to do the Dell drivers...I also know that there are the Omega drivers and a tool to modify the ATI desktop drivers so that they will work on my laptop.
Any thoughts...
