i know it looks right dodgy, but honestly its not like that. would you belive me if i said i found them in a bag headed for the compactor.

friday i was doing a delivery to one of the many buildings in my city, and in this delivery bay there is always neat stuff being thrown out from the offices above. judging by the boxs and such, an office must have been installing dell desktops. its not the first time in this particular building that i have found neat stuff, i have come across newish printers, LCD's, PC computers and servers components. often alot of the stuff is still very new, but to the many clients, its old and they often renew. i always come across new software, and lots of it.

I can believe that. I worked at a pretty large military command (2500+ people) and the job required many thousands of computers, so every time they'd get a new batch in there would be XP Pro discs laying around all over the place.
Unfortunately though, picking them up and taking them home would be theft of government property and therefore not worth the risk..

Whether or not the computer is a Dell has nothing to do with it, far as I can tell. Otherwise, my Toshiba would have never gotten past the cd-key prompt, as I've never had an XP Home cd-key. But there never was a prompt for it.

And it activates online just fine. Just as the OEM (non Dell) XP Pro cd did with my Dell, that's been on 3 different computers now (at seperate times of course).
