FT: Dell XPS M170... looking for desktop.

Thread Starter
I have the following system I'm looking to possibly trade for a desktop system:

2.26Ghz (currently the fastest CPU until Core 2 Duo debuts)
2GB RAM
Geforce 7800GTX
80GB HDD (7200 rpm)
17" with trulife
DVDRW
Wireless a/b/g
3 Year warranty

Looking to trade for a nice desktop system. I gave my wife my FX55, 2GB, 6800U system to use and I'm thinking of going back to a desktop and getting twin 2407s.

Thanks.

Xps M 170

Is it just for trade or for sale too?
I´m interested on it if it´s for sale. How much are you asking for it?

Looking to trade for a high-end desktop, although *may* sell depending but not for a low price.

Just looking for offers atm. I'm in no rush at all and if there are no worthwhile options I'll just continue using this system as a desktop hehe. I'm looking for something better than my old desktop obviously, as the XPS cost more.

I would also trade for a light-weight Sony VAIO / MacBook Pro laptop (with warranty) + cash.

I just priced that out completely new parts from a major computer store here. That doesn't include the liquid cooling system as they don't sell it and I'm not sure what it goes for.

Unfortunately I'm looking for a high-end desktop in trade with current generation specs (dual core CPU, at least 2GB RAM, 6800 or 7800, etc). Even if I trade my laptop for your system + cash I would still need to upgrade the RAM, CPU, and video card and I really don't want to buy anything extra. Also is that board SLI? Unfortunately that system is a bit slower with less RAM than my old one I just gave my wife.

Thanks for your interest though, much appreciated.

Now THAT sounds like a fair trade. I've got about the same rig as you (laptop wise). For my Sony UX (worth about $400-$600 more) I get offered trades for desktop systems that have one 6800gt and get about 5,000 in 3dmark05'

Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going crazy...
Yeah, now I'm debating if I want to trade it for an XPS Gen2 or an M170 cause I like the flashy LEDS of the XPS line. This notebook component wise is the same as those two just minus the flash.

That is the type of system I have been hoping to get an offer like but so far I have gotten mostly the ones unknownman is talking about. Although I did get an offer of a nice system with an opteron 170 but it only had one 7800gt and a small HDD so I have been thinking about it.
