Yeah, I just heard about this rumor. I don't know how solid this is...the question is, if it happens, what does this mean for us, the consumer?

This has got to be false! It makes no sense for the two companies to merge. If anything, AMD+Nvidia would make a better merger, not that I think even that would work out well.

It's semantics. ATi wants the two combinations so badly that if it still falls through ATi will have to PAY AMD a $162 million termination fee.

It also still doesn't excuse you from not doing a Search. That's reason enough to be nominated for NOTW.

all i know is the stock is currently 50% of what it was just a few weeks ago, aka, the house of pain. if it doesn't start recovering soon i am gonna rip some hair out.

from a technical point of view, maybe its step 1 to creating the Centrino equivolent for AMD, they already have the 24w Turion, combine it with an ATI chipset and graphics solution, throw in an Atheros wifi card, and you got yourself a "Centrino"

I am pretty sure ATi will keep making GPUs, but if they don't, wouldn't it make nvidia the sole monopoly on high-end graphics
