I was looking at the asus a8jm because of the 7600 card but battery isnt the best, is there anything with a 7600 or equivalent card with 4hrs+ battery life?

what about the asus w3j? x1600 is equivalent

The W3J with both main and secondary battery would get over 4 hours doing regular tasks. The secondary modular bay battery swaps with the optical drive.

I believe the Compal HGL30 with go7600 can use an extended 9-cell battery, that should be able to get about 4 hours.

I think the W3J is your only sure option with the modular bay.. But it's gunna be aboue 6.5lbs heavy (as heavy as a 15") and it'll cost you 150$ with the extra battery and the modular bay, over the already big price of 1799$ USD.

You pulling those weight numbers out of thin air?

If the W3J weighs 5.5lb with the main battery and optical drive it'll weigh about 5.8lb with the secondary battery swapped with the optical drive. An optical drive weighs ~0.4lb while the modular bay battery is ~0.7lb.

depends if u want to spend more on looks and build quality, or less on not so good looks, and lesser build quality

pretty much either the W3J with a modular battery, or the Compal HGL30 with its 9 cell battery (which is standard).

Depends if you're looking for 4 hours of life while you're gaming, or 4-hours of life on a notebook which happens to be capable of gaming.

If you're dead set on 14", then you can't go wrong with the Asus W3J as others have mentioned. You'll need either 2 main batteries, or a main+secondary battery to get the 4 hours of battery life (both in gaming and regular use)

If you're willing to sacrafice some screen size and raw GPU power for less weight and more battery life, you should check out the 13.3" laptops like the Sony SZ series or the Dell XPS M1210 that have the GeForce Go 7400 in them. About 1.0lb to 1.5lb lighter than the W3J, can achieve close to 4 hours of battery life under regular use, standard battery. Switching to an extended battery will boost battery life close to 6 or 7 hours, and give you about 4 hours while gaming. Plus, it will be a lot easier on your back if you carry it around a lot for school or work.

I just took a look at the Asus W3j today (I'm in Taiwan right now, and happened to stumble upon a HUGE computer store with virtaully all the Asus models on display and for ppl to mess around with!) Naturally, I took a run with the W3j, and I have to say it is SEXXXXXXY!! Almost hotter than my girlfriend, but just not quite lol.
But in all seriousness, the W3j is a true beauty. It is sleek, stylish, powerful, and the brushed metal lid simply blew me away. It is by no means heavy, and its size is very managable. I wouldn't go for the A8jm, since it just has a few more USB ports, the built in webcam (which isn't that good anyway), and...I believe that's it? And oh, more plastic parts, and a plastic cover lol. SO, for me, its W3j ftw!
And the hot-swapple modular bay battery is another big plus.
