does anyone know of any good biometric brands that are reliable?
I found the rather cheap defcon from targus but i wanted one that hooks up to the pcmcia slot, if one exists that is..

are you talking about control systems, to control access?

Fingerprints are extremely easy to spoof, especially since your fingerprints are probably all over the case.

Iris identification systems are good. Iris id is quick, easy and can potentially use the built-in camera if so equipped. While its possible to take a picture of your iris, its usually difficult to do without your knowledge. Unless, of course, you are a college student in which case, you probably spend a lot of time in a coma in places other than your own quarters.

oh i meant fingerprint. I didn't even know they had iris scanners available that are portable enough for a laptop. My old roommate (yes i'm a college student but not in a coma haha) had a samsung sens x10 which had a built in fingerprint authenticator. I was quite impressed, which is why I'm here trying to find one.
