Startup Problems

I have a zv5260us (specs below) and just suddenly, when I press the power button to turn on my lappy, the only thing happens is that some lights turn on, and then the power light blinks. No activation of harddrive or any signal to the moniter. But the weird thing is, it only happens when my laptop is plugged in via power outlet. When I pulled the power cord out, and turned it on via internal battery power, it starts up normally. I always had it connected to an APC battery back-up/surge protector. What do you think could be the problem? Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

When you plug A/C adaptor in ,Is it any light show that you plug it in ?. Something wrong with power cable ,any bend on cable ?.

the cable's not bad, b/c once start it up normally on battery power, i plug the AC cord in, and it works fine... must be something in the laptop itself?
