Clean Install: Is eFramework mandatory?

Hi all, just wondering if Empowering Framework a mandatory/vital piece of software if any of the other Esoftwares are to be installed? Also, if anyone can share their view on which of these Esoftwares are really necessary to be installed on a custom Acer system?

My current custom setup is not using any of the Esoftwares, and to this moment have had no serious problems, except one or two errors in the event viewer.

The eFramework is needed by the other "e" programs. I agree with Sucka none of the Acer software is needed unless you plan on using the Acer Orbicam. You can run camera using just the drivers. But without the Acer camera software you have little or no control over camera fine tuning. For example the only way to increase frame rates with the camera is to turn off low light boost using the Acer software.

One of the problems is that the screen saver would not activate, but the sleep n hibernate do, and the error in the event viewer is this:
The Acer EPM System Hardware Driver service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified. So I've tried installing ePower Management but that didn't help, perhaps I will try with the eFramework as well.

The second problem involves OZSCR and SCardSvr related to the smartcard device, and since I don't use any smartcard, i had disabled it.
Smart Card Reader 'O2Micro PCMCIA Reader 0' rejected IOCTL POWER: The smart card is not responding to a reset. and
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( OZSCR ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: ; IOCTL POWER failed with status 0xc0000014. I think all three errors in the event viewer is related to power issues, I think. Anyway, I will try to reinstall EPM and the framework and see if that fixes the problem.

when i did my clean install i put ePower mgmt back on, as a matter of convenience, i know there is alternatives, but the resources used by this app are minimal, and i haven't had no problems, besides i disabled enough uneccessary xp services that i still feel confident i am getting max potential out of my system.

Kinza, I don't use hibernation which you can't disable with ePower. It wastes 2GB of drive
space.

I couldn't find the off button for hibernation anywhere in ePowermanagement. When installed it replaces XP's own power
management program. XP does the job for me and I can disable hibernation.
