Does swapping the CPU by ourself void the warrentee.

Bump, and I'm not sure if it voids your warranty. I guess it depends on what manufacturer it is. Some people have said that with Dell, as long as you don't damage anything while swapping the cpus (which is not that hard to do if you have any mechanical ability) then the only thing that is no longer warranteed is the cpu (since it's not from Dell). Thanks for all the bumps everyone, I've got three left.

I'm interested, sent PM and email

With most manufacturers it probably does - but if you keep the old CPU and the laptop dies at some point, you can just put the old CPU back in before sending the laptop back. In that case I'd be very surprised if anyone can tell that you actually used a Merom in it.

Of course, if you buy a barebone system then it won't void the warranty - the manufacturer expects you to install your own CPU in it.

im just saying hes doing a good job resaling. i only resold conroe didnt know there was going to be a demand for merom since they are not a significant improvement because you cant really oc in a laptop. as for the price its about $120 profit for him if he have connections in taiwan.

Look you fool!!!!!! Before opening your big fat mouth you don't even know the person. Stop your wishing and crying because he bet you to the punch. Just to let you know he doesn't really make all that much from selling the Merom. He is doing us all a favor and taking time out of his busy schedule to make it availale for all of us. Go get a life. If you wanted to sell the Merom for yourself start your own post and quit hijacking. Any how, I don't see how he would make a $120 profit when he is asking $375 for each Merom.

That's just like you. You think because you read something in a review that you somehow know something. Remember, some of us actually buy the stuff and use it. I'm sorry if you can't afford to buy anything yourself. If you could you'd know that most of what you think you know is false (like most of your last two posts). I overclock laptops all the time, so that's false. The Core 2 Duo (contrary to the Anand preview) is leaps and bounds ahead of the Core Duo, just as the Conroes are. Also, his asking price is $410. That does not mean he always gets it. If you would get your arse out of the chair and do something to make some money (I'm guessing that thread-crapping doesn't pay very well), maybe you could buy some of this stuff and learn things by experience instead of reading (and believing) everything somebody types that suits your fancy. Get help buddy!

Obviously you haven't looked at anything other than the title of this thread. Take your own advice: read before you post.

The prices he's listed in the thread are:

T7400 $375 - Core Duo T2600 (same clock speed) is ~$425
T7200 $315 - Core Duo T2500 (same clock speed) is ~$300
T7600 $495

Those prices aren't bad. I'm sure that he could raise them by quite a lot ($50+) and still get plenty of buyers. The fact that he hasn't is very nice for those of us who want a Merom.

Look, I appreciate all of the free bumps this has created but let's leave this issue alone. Second, my asking price is $375 but this forum doesn't edit the titles when you've changed them. Third, I wish I could get them from Taiwan for $250 but that's not the case.

BUMP.

Mine is stepping is B0. I just got mine yesterday.
Is there any difference between them?
I got Stepping B0 Revision 4, the LAST "ES" batch =(, I have seen some B1 Rev. 5 around but havent heard anything, my only question is "does anyone has this 2 settings in cpu-z?" im using G.sKill pc5400 and found this detail today:

Check:
I Have the memory Divider at 1:2

Cpu Z doesnt let me see the 2 cores option, it marks both cores (I have seen lots of photos like this one, no problem so far, but does anyone knows why?)

The Core Duo Image in Cpu Z doenst appear... same as before, I have seen photos with and without it, but my real question is "what happend with the memory divider? does anyone have it like mine?"

btw, its an ABBYSMAL difference between this beauty and my old t2400!!!
so revision means that they have some "patchs" right?
