Sony's service

How is Sony's service? I'm looking into getting a new notebook and the only thing that's holding me back from getting a Sony SZ is the fact that with Dell I've had very good service. On my Inspiron 8200 I got the everything complete service package and they've been very good about replacing quite a few things. Since Sony's market share is smaller than Dell's they would logically be less able to address individual problems.

Can anyone vouch for Sony's ability to provide timely at home service?

I bought a 30" Widescreen CRT television. Has the works on it. I love the TV but when I put a game in 1080i widescreen I had a problem with the screen shifting.
I call Sony who asked me my name, and where I bought my TV. They immediately got information for me on who to call for help, and by the time I called them(a very short time later, I think morning of the next day because the service shop was closed.) they were aware that I was under Sony's warrantee.

The point to this is that my experience with tech support has been wonderful. They were very kind and helpful and quick.
