Will there be a BLACK MBP?

I think the black MB is a definite plus for business users, and I wish the MBP was available in black. Any chance of a black MBP when they switch over to Merom in August?

well, the MB is the first black computer from apple, i am sure within the next year or so we should see it spill over into other models including mpb and imac.

in the meantime, business users can enjoy the sexy black laptops known as Lenovo Thinkpad

If history repeats itself, we won't see a black MacBook Pro, as that line seems to be set for the aluminum look. BUT, who knows? It the MacBook sales demand is high enough, Apple may decide to offer a black version of the MBP.

Yep, nothing is for certain, depends on sales.

If you're not too particular about how long you have to wait to get a Thinkpad, and don't mind a thick, heavier 15.4" laptop (the Z60M is a beast), and are willing to sacrifice specs... yea, go for it. Been there, done that... never again. Not since I found out that I can have my cake and eat it too.

Just thought I'd mention that the MB is not actually the first black computer from Apple. The original PowerBooks were a dark grey color, and with the introduction of the PowerBook 500 series in 1994, they actually switched to a real black color. The PowerBook 500 series also had a number of other notable innovations for laptops at the time, specifically the introduction of the trackpad, built-in ethernet, stero speakers, an internal expansion bay and a "sleep" functionality (that put it to sleep when you closed the lid).

Apple continued to make black PowerBooks up until the introduction of the PowerBook G4 in 2001, which changed the color to silver (titanium materials first, then aluminum).

Apple also did make a black variation of one of their LC Macs called the Macintosh TV: http://www.lowendmac.com/500/mactv.shtml

Personally I'd love to see a black MBP (carbon fiber or whatever could be cool). If I were in the market for the regular MB, I'd be really tempted to get the black MB, since its the closest thing to the old black PowerBooks.

Why are you even still posting here?

The Pismo was running OSX in the early 2000's. It ran on a G3.

If something AFTER 2000 is still not modern, then you need to recheck your dictionary. Shit, I had a classmate building flash websites on his Pismo last year.
