64-bit in near future.. - Page 10

How 'bout a 3dMark03 score just for starters?
Scores are great for doing benchmarks. I do work. All I know is that most of the time the computer is waiting for me. Once in a great while, I have to wait for the computer. That's what I don't like. I don't mind waiting a short while, but not a long time. I don't like having my programs die because they have choked the machine. But I guess they have their purpose.

Unlikely there will be any marks for a couple three months, you have to have a computer before you can run a bench.

No, I want fiction1337 to please post some scores. He, in fact, just purchased an A64 laptop:

CYBERPOWER X64-8000 | 15" SXGA TFT | AMD ATHLON64 3200+ Processor | 1gig of ram| 60GB 7200RPM | ATI RADEON 9600 PRO 128MB VIDEO | 8X DVD & 24/16/24 CDRW DRIVE | Wireless 802.11G 54Mbs MiniPCI Card |

I'd like to know how he likes it

And, I think Tekara got his before fiction1337 did...

Tekara: Got anything exciting to say about the new laptop?

i think he changed his HD last mintue which delayed his purchase, im ordering mine form ibuypower.com since its cheaper this weekend so ill get it nex week and then I WILL put a nice review for you guys, im reliable
post #185 of 202
Pffft. Are you saying I'm not reliable? The order status hasn't updated since last Monday, so I don't know whats going on. Estimated Shipdate this Friday? It hasn't even gone into Assembly yet. I'm getting a tad impatient with these guys. Don't worry, I'll let you know when I get it.

Oops. Sorry, fiction1337. I know how much fun waiting is... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you

Tekara, on the other hand has had his for a week...? Any impressions and or BENCHMARKS (?!?) you can give us?

DeaDLok let me know how you like purchasing with ibuypower. Which memory sticks you bought. They offer up to 1gig but three different brands, do you think it would really make all that much difference between buying the generic brand and Kensington?
Kensington and Corsair are my overclockable.. but would you want to do that in a laptop. (BTW, I'm unzipping HL2.. I'll tell you guys how it is. )

I looked into the other brands of memory and also the one they offer. I didn;t see much difference since they were all the same specs, so decided to go wit the gig of ram generic brand. THe price of ibuypower.com is bout 100 bucks cheapr than cyberpower if you don't take the OS with the system, you really have no choice with cyberpower u need to take the OS which kind of drew me away from them.

I called ibuypower.com regarding their dead pixel policy. (I had to explain my question pretty thoroughly)
The sales rep said:
A: "not if you have a few dots on the side, but if you have 10 or 20 in the middle we probably would"

Q. "so is there any set policy regarding a set number of pixels before replacement?"
(after being put on hold for five minutes)
A: "no"

you woudln't need to worry bout that to much because its rare to get dead pixels and to get a whole bunch is even rarer, i dunno who started this paranoia but i've gone throuh 3 notebooks and at most i had 1 dead pixel on only 2 of them

I'm waiting for Alderwood or Socket 939, and PCI Express.

Edit: Funny thing, when I cancelled it, about 20 minutes later it said Assembly Date, 3/5/04. Funny, funny asains.

When do you think sager will come out with the AMD, i checked clevo and it doesnt say jack on this subject, and when i search for it, i dont really find anything relavant, i might have passed over it in this forum, but shrug oh well, just repeating.

eurocom.com has a future model of it. I doubt they'll have that model until a longgg time from now.

I just emailed "Bobby" at Cyberpower with the question: "I realize you likely can't tell me, but do you have any ETA on an A64 laptop with Radeon 9700 graphics? Thanks".

His reply was: "THE COMPLETE TURN AROUND TIME FOR THE LAPTOP ABOVE WILL BE APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS FROM THE DAY YOU ORDER IT."

Hmmm... Hard to imagine... Need to verify he saw 9700. I'll let you know.

Perhaps "Bobby" is just an automatic response program.
