Got my m1210 last friday----AOU screen, YEAH, or so I thought. A few bright red "stuck/dead" pixels in the middle of the screen.
Called Tech and they sent a technician to replace the sceen. I specifically asked if i was going to get a new screen or a refurbished one when on the phone with the Dell rep---he said NEW.
Tech came with a Samsung screen in hand---yikes, i thought. Oh, well, i'll let him install it and if i don't like it i'll ask for laptop replacement. Mid way through his install, i noticed a sticker on the LCD bos reading "refurbished."
After he installed it, I quickly called up Dell customer support and they said it was a mistake on their end in sending the refurb LCD and will send me a brand new replacekment.
That said, I really don't see that much of a quality difference between the two LCDs: AUO and the Samsung. In fact, had it not been refurb, i would have kept the laptop with the Samsung LCD.
For my new machinge, I'm hoping i will get either the Samsung or AUO. At least I know i can rest peacefully with these LCDs. But, please, not the Toshiba. I don't want to go through the process of staring it up and down, left and right again for imperfections.
I have a 67% of not getting the Toshiba LCD, right?
