Hey, I'm looking for a 17" gaming laptop with a 2 GHz Core Duo and one of the following video cards:

ATI Radeon X1800
ATI Radeon X1800XT
Nvidia Go7900GS
Nvidia Go7800GTX
Nvidia Go7900GTX

If you have any models in mind would you please mention them so I can make a list and choose based on what I need. Thanks.

This is as good as ur gunna get for $2,000, I ordered mine last week and will be here tomorow. Pretty dam good for the price and looks extra sleek in person. Also best pre built you can buy, I believe. There is another Toshiba with the gtx but i stayed away do to lower specs on everything but graphics card, and a little sceptical about the high temps on that card.

That's the model my friend is buying, but I found a few problems with it that I didn't like. It doesn't have to be under $2000, but under say $2500ish. I was really looking for the cheapest laptop with a Geforce 7900 GTX, if anyone can suggest something please let me know. Thanks Bigmick, and hamshu my kidney is worth about ~$4000, we can negotiate it later.

Check this thread:

Gaming laptops for under $2000.

The Dell e1705 (7900GS) + discount coupons = less than $1500 shipped.

Overpriced. Can get a Dell with the 7900gs and have wuxga, for less then that... prolly alot less. Got mine, T2500, 7900gs, dvdburner, 1 gig ram, 80 gig hd, wuxga, $1450 shipped

How bout an alienware? You can get a nice m9700 for less then 2.5k if you configure it right. That's what I wanna get.

If you have $2,000 - 2,500 I would definately opt for a notebook with the 7900GTX. While the e1705 is a nice notebook the GTX performs a lot better than the GS. I would say that the Sager 5760 is a good choice. The build quality is a bit better than the e1705 as well.

$2500 to spend.. go with Alienware m7700 or the m9700. I can personally tell you that the m9700 is one of the toughest machines out there. Right now is the best time to buy it

1.8ghz AMD Turion, Windows MCE /w remote & tv tuner, 1 gb RAM, 17" WXGA+ (1440x900), 80gb HD, DUAL (SLI) NVidia 7900 gs, wireless + bluetooth (integrated)

$2,474 USD That is a really good deal right now.

Check it out

EDIT: Also check out the alienware forums in NBF.

I only notice the grainyness when I look at my desktop, otherwise no problem, its probably a driver issue.

My screen model is an AUO.

I personally like the xps1710. $2400 is a bit pricy but if you can find a coupon that works for xps's then your prob good to go.
