Hello everyone this is my first post in these forums and I'm hopeingyou guys can help me out with a problems I'm haveing with my Aspire 3623.
I bought this laptop back in April and have had no poblems with it until now. Heres the deal
Last month a sun shaped candle holder dropped from my wall about 2 feet over my laptop and landed on the keyboard, it didn't appear to cause any damage at the time and I just counted my blessings and cursed myself for putting a candle holder in such a stupid place. However since then my computer will not kick over to DC when I remove the AC jack. The battery shows 97% charged with 9 minutes left to fully charge but that reading never changes. When I remove my AC jack instead of getting the notification beep it just goes black and then I can't power up unless I'm jacked in with AC. There are moments where I can pull the jack and get the beep and run on battery but only for about 10/15 minutes and then my computer drops dead and won't power up unless I plug th AC back in. I contacted Acer and they sent me another battery, which I got today, I charged it up, pulled the AC and *blip* dead again! So its not the battery and I'm wondering if the candle holder hitting my keyboard might have damaged something underneath. I noticed my (9) key was slightly popped out from the impact and when I look at that area on the schematic I see the nine key is relatively over the battery/AC connection. I consulted my local computer repair shop and the guy thought the accident and the power issue were coinsidental but I'm beginning to think there related now that I've tried a new battery with the same results.
I plan on calling Acer tomorrow and seeing if theres a repair depot in my area but I just wanted to ask around the forums for some imput about this problem.
Thanks in advance and sorry about the long post but too much info is better than too little right?
