WANTED: Merom T7400 or T7200 CPU

Hey guys! First post for me.

I have one of the new Aspire 5672's with the ATi X1600 VC. I'm looking to upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 Duo. Anybody with a Merom for sale can contact me by email or PM.

Also, anyone with experience upgrading a Core Duo Lappy to Merom is encouraged to post here with their thoughts.

I don't think you will find many people here with the core 2 duo...yet, much less those that have upgraded to it.



Am I still in last week or has this even been publicly released yet??

that guy is on this forum also you can find his post if you scroll down. and i have never seen anybody pay more than 450 for a t7400.

They were going for upwards of $800+ just a month-two ago. You just haven't seen them here...

But yes, the prices are much more reasonable now.

Should somebody need one (thats all i have, i m no dealer) you can PM me. However I my self look for a T2250.

Sorry i mean i have one T7400 ES Merom Core Processor.

Thanks for the responses. I'd like to hear from you guys concerning issues with upgrading to Merom (especially from Sucka since I know he upgaded his 5672 to a T7200).

would you consider trade for a T2500, and maybe some $$$?

Also some merom facts as far as the 1710 goes... I read this somewhere and forgot where... but it is reputable and I hope after the sweat I put into this forum, I am too...

Merom will work fine with the A00 bios for the 1710.
Merom gives a initial bios error with the A01 bios. You hit enter at bios and it works fine.
Dell purposely changed the bios to err on merom so they have control of our upgrading and timing. But the err is only in bios and you can enter past it. I just tells you that it has a problem with the microcode or something. It is a fake warning as there are no bad effects.
Dell will release a bios upon launch of merom with full support.
Dell is releasing a new GPU solution that may be dual GPU.... ooooooooo baby..... that is directly from dell engineering.

Cold showers anyone????

I assume you are talking to CrazyHorse, right? Might want to quote (rather than reply) when responding to a specific person. Easier to follow that way.

I rather would get a T2250 but if you would like you can make me an offer. The Merom Core is about few weeks old and used in my Desktop System. I paid quiet alot of money for it. But i m certain i m going to sell it or sell / trade it. There is nothing wrong with this cpu but i have to run a certain bios for the board in order to get the merom core to run, unfortunately this bios misses out on every ends and gives me also some raid problems, i knew that before i got the merom but i hoped AOpen would have come out with a new bios by now which didn't happen. You can either talk to me on msn / icq or send me a pm.

UPDATE: nathorofmoo is awesome...

Received the chip in brand new condition overnight. If you want a Merom T7400 you need to PM this guy!!!

BTW...MEROM WORKS PERFECTLY IN THE ACER ASPIRE 5672.

(BIOS 1.3228, X1600 GPU)
