. Ok i have a ATI X1800XT, and that idles at 54c. Still hot, but in the same conditions. I dont understand why its running so hot. not sure how high it goes when i play games. But all my games run fine, and it hasnt overheat yet. Just wondering if thats bad.
btw my first laptop, so dont mind my noobness.
Just the point I tried to make on this board. My fans turn on at 78C off at 68C. Others got their panties in a knot when I pointed out these are the same fan points I've saw with my original Go7800! Don't misunderstand, the 7900GS is a cooler chip.
I wrote to Dell and asked about my 7900 temps..they offerd to change out my fans
They just don't know.
It's strange that posters have reported these temperatures all over the map? One poster claims he does get around 60C idle...but he lives in a super cold apartment
Me, I'm just trying to see if I truly have a hot running 7900 chip
