i love this computer!

P105-s9312
2.0GHZ DUO CORE
17" TFT TRUEBRITE 1440 X 900
2GB 667MHz DDRAM
200GB HD 4200RPM
NVIDIA GEFORCE GO 7900GS 256MB
BLUETOOTH, FINGERPRINT READER....

everything about this computer works in synergies with each other. The touch pad is very nice and ez to use, comes with a full number pad which is good, i got it in the orange/copper color! Had to call 10 Manhattan computer stores to find one that had it. BestBuy in chelsea, manhattan has 2 left for who ever wants them! they only had 3!!!! Anyways im at work and installing wow and F.E.A.R. right now so....nice keep yall updated!

Does the 4200Rpm slow the computer down any. I have been looking at this laptops and that is really the only real drawback that I can see. How is the battery life, and also how mobile is it, I know it is a 17in, but people have been saying it is one of the thinist 17in out there. And congrats on your new laptop.

yea, if there was a downfall, its the HD, but you wont notice once you boot up. Boot time was less than a minute tho...I highly recommend the p105-s9312, the only other one i would also recommend is the p100-s9012. Me personally felt that an upgraded processor, ram and more space on the HD was worth more than just a graphics card.

Glad you found one..they look like nice machines.

I just got mine yesterday. I absolutely LOVEEEE it!!!

I got rid of all the shit programs, Mcafee, Toshiba shit, etc... and installed Oblivion... I ran it, at highest graphics, and it runs great!! I love the definition of the screen too.

I do have one question though, how the hell do you turn on the Dual Mode Pad?? Mine is not lit, like others I have seen. Is there a switch somewhere to turn it on? Or do I activate from the computer? I have heard you are supposed to touch it in the upper right corner, but when I do nothing happens. Anyone?

Thanks.

In the top right corner of the touchpad is a a little box with 2 arrows. tap that section to activate the dual mode. gets to be kind of annoying as I hit that on accident and it drives me nuts. Newegg order should be here today with my new G5mouse to take care of that problem

I have tried pressing on it, but nothing happens. Am I supposed to just "tap" it gently? Or you can do it by pressing too?

I will try "tapping" on it when I get home, hopefully it will work!

Thanks man

Maybe the program that turns it on/off is one of the toshiba softwares that you deleted. Check HERE to see if you can find it for your model.

whats the price range of this laptop? how much you guys get yours for? I might seriously consider this over the Toshiba Qosmio G20 im looking at right now.

There's a similar one in Canada (the P100-s??) that costs $2400CDN from Toshiba.ca.

Congrats Goont!

I've had mine for almost a month and love it; I went with a clean install (dual boot XP Pro; a clean boot with no extras for games and a second boot with stuff I use for work).

On the HDD Question... I've noticed a slight pause (sometimes more than slight) when installing some games; but once it starts there is little difference. Notice no difference when playing games that access the HDD at all.

My only peeve is upgrading the video driver, Nvidia's drivers don't see it as their card.

my P105 S9312 is hot on the left side

Hi all. I just purchased a P105 S9312. Are your P105 S9312's really hot on the left side after being on for about a half hour. My left keys are too hot to use for long. Is this normal? I am trying to decide if I should have it fixed or take it back and exchange it, or even turn it in for a different model while I still can.

Also can you hear the fan? Is it loud?

Thank you.

The fan on mine only turns on every 15-20mins under light use/web browsing. When gaming I am using the Spire Pacific Breeze Notebook Cooler and it keeps temps so low I don't think the fan ever comes on.
