Latitude D620: Normal to have a lot of 'flex' in LCD casing?

Thread Starter
I've recently noticed that the plastic casing around my LCD screen has a lot of flex in it, especially in the area just below the screen. The space is so pronounced that I can wedge my fingers between the display and the casing and stretch the plastic casing to see the internals of the laptop.

I am concerned that with this wiggle room that dust, dirt, or other foreign substances could accumulate and cause future damage. It also looks very cheap that the outer casing around the LCD is so flimsy.

Is this design normal, or has something come loose which was holding the casing firm? Has anyone experienced this, and if so, were you able to remedy it?

No... its not normal.

I guess Dell are still working out the bugs with the 620.
ive had mine a couple of months and im not happy with it....
the battery catch has broken, couple of keys keep flicking off.. the laptop "squeeks" when on battery, and the screen is poor.. nowhere near as good as the d610 before it

hmm kinda strange. I have the d620 also and while I can see some flexing, it's no where enough to the the internals.
