m1210 camera draining battery?

It seems that whenever i'm using the m1210, the camera on top becomes warm whether i'm using the camera or not (it is definitely warm and almost hot when its being used)! this leads me to believe it's using uneeded power that could otherwise be saved. i've read about this on other laptop models which have an integrated camera and how users disabled this and that to solve the problem and save battery power. I couldn't find anything to help with the m1210 though. any ideas or solutions? or anyone noticing the same thing?

I noticed it too. The built-in cam gets warm if m1210 is on battery but not if using power adapter.
No idea about the solution. Will be great to know if there is. I hope Dell will release new driver to fix such (if a new driver can fix it).

hmmm this is interesting... didn't notice it before... my camera is actually somewhat warm now, and i haven't used it at all today(or ever really). thats weird.... well it definitely is draining some power, i guess its jsut questionable how much. although i know dell would replace it, i'm really hoping this isn't a real problem. i believe replacing the camera requires a whole swap of the lcd/bezzle(which would be 'refurbished) and i really don't want to go through that

Ugh.. turning off is not what I want to do. I like the the mic function in the camera and also the camera
I only wish that it will not turn warm when in battery. I guess, there's no fix to that since the product manual of m1210 says it's normal.

Maybe thats why some people get 2:30-2:45 battery on 6 cell while others get 3 hours..maybe the guys with 3 don't have the AV package..
